Roco Kingdom FAQ: Accounts, Platforms, Progress and Monetization
Account requirements, beta access, cross-play, cross-save, monetization, languages and region lock, answered in one place.
The questions that decide whether you can play are mostly about access, not about Jinies. The global version enters closed beta on 27 October 2026, the launch date and business model are still unannounced, and beta progress is wiped at the end. The answers below separate what is official from what is still a guess, and every mechanic borrowed from the CN build is labeled as such.
Do I need a special account or a beta key?
Neither has been confirmed. No official source has named a required publisher account, such as a Level Infinite ID, for the global version, and no key distribution has been described. That can change before 27 October, but until an official sign-up page exists, the account question has no reliable answer, and any guide that states one is guessing.
What is confirmed is the test itself: it starts on 27 October 2026 at 03:00 CET on PC, Android and iOS, in English and Japanese. Because payments are disabled for the duration, access is not sold inside the game. Treat anyone charging for a key or a pre-made account as unofficial. The official site and the Steam and Epic listings are the only channels that can publish a real sign-up flow, and that is where to watch.
Which platforms are supported?
The beta and the launch do not have the same list, which is the source of most confusion.
| Stage | Platforms |
|---|---|
| Quack Quack Test (October 2026) | PC, Android, iOS |
| Global launch | Windows, PS5, Xbox Series, iOS, Android |
| PC stores | Steam, Epic |
| Beta languages | English, Japanese |
PS5 and Xbox Series are launch targets, not beta platforms, so a console does not get you into the October test. A Switch version, a macOS build and a cloud version have not been announced. Cross-play between PC and console at launch is also unconfirmed, so do not assume that a console player and a PC player can meet in the same world.
Does progress carry between PC and mobile?
Inside the beta, yes. Progress is shared between PC and mobile during the Quack Quack Test, so you can start on one device and continue on the other. At the end of the test, no: characters, Jinies and items are deleted. That combination is unusual enough to confuse people, because the shared progress is real and the wipe is also real.
Cross-save at launch is a separate question and is not announced. Neither is cross-save between console and PC, nor a shared account system across all five platforms. "Cross-play" means playing together; "cross-save" means carrying one save across devices. The beta confirms the second one only between PC and mobile, and only for the duration of the test. Full details are on the release date page.
Is Roco Kingdom free to play, and is there gacha?
Not announced for the global version. No store page has published a price, a pre-order, or a business model. The beta cannot answer the question either, because payments are switched off for its entire run.
The CN build is a free download that monetizes through a Monthly Card at 30 CNY and a Season Pass with tiers at 68 and 128 CNY, rather than a box price (CN build, single source). The pass bundles cosmetics, stamina tickets, currency and an exclusive egg, and the Monthly Card adds premium currency, stamina items and Prism Shards. Those figures come from one CN price post, so treat them as a shape, not as a forecast for your region.
On gacha: the CN build has a coin-based gacha that guide writers advise new players to skip in the early game (CN build, single source). That is not the same as selling Jini pulls for premium currency. Whether the global version does the latter is not announced, and it is one of the questions the beta is unlikely to settle because payments are disabled.
Pay-to-win is therefore unanswerable for the global release. In the CN build, the paid track is mostly cosmetics, convenience currency and a pass egg, and the pass Jini's fruit can be obtained from friends who bought the pass (CN build, single source). At least one convenience item, a mirror that lets you freely change a Jini's Nature, is paid-only (CN build, single source), so the model is not purely cosmetic either.
Can I play solo? Is there trading or co-op?
The main story, exploration and most progression are solo-friendly in the CN build. At level 10 you can visit other players' worlds and catch the starter you did not pick (CN build, Season 3), which is how most players fill out the early roster without a second account. Multiplayer is optional for the content the guides describe.
Boss-style challenges support co-op, and a solo attempt can be filled by an NPC ally (CN build, single source), so you are not locked out of them without a group. Whether the global version keeps that fallback is unconfirmed.
Trading has not been announced for the global version. The CN build supports gifting between friends, but hatched Shiny and Radiant eggs cannot be gifted (CN build, single source). Gifting is not an auction house, and no player-run market or trade economy has been confirmed for either version.
Which languages are supported, and is there a region lock?
The beta runs in English and Japanese only. Additional languages at launch have not been announced, and the CN build is not an English option, so there is no existing client you can use as a stopgap. If your language is neither English nor Japanese, the practical answer is to wait for a launch language list.
Region lock is not announced. Server locations, the countries eligible for the test, and the expected ping from North America or Europe are all unpublished. The 03:00 CET start is convenient for Europe, but that is a scheduling choice, not proof that the test is EU-only; the same moment is morning in Beijing and evening in New York. Do not buy network hardware or a subscription for a test whose regional access rules are unknown.
How many Jinies are there?
The CN build launched with 450+ Jinies and passed 600+ by Season 3 (CN build). Neither is a global launch number. The global count will be whatever the beta build and later announcements confirm, and the CBT roster is the only reliable source for it. Use the Jini dex for roles and types rather than for a precise total.
Counts also move with seasons, so a number copied from a launch-week post is stale by the next patch. The label matters more than the headline: a figure marked CN build, Season 3 describes a version that has already had several balance passes.
Where should I start?
If you are waiting for access, read the release date and launch status page for the beta timing and the confirmed platform list. If you are already in, the beginner guide covers the first 48 hours, the starter Jini comparison explains which opening pick suits which playstyle, and the Gulu Ball guide explains capture odds and which ball to save.
Anything not covered here is probably one of the unconfirmed items above: accounts, pricing, gacha, region lock and console cross-save. Those answers will be added when the beta starts and official details are published, not before.
