Magic Academy Schools: Which One Should You Choose?
What the Magic Academy actually confirms, how its assignments fit the early loop, and how to judge a school bonus when the options appear.
The Magic Academy is the frame for your first hours, not a character-creation choice. You do not apply to it before you play. You meet it through the Magic Handbook, where Academy assignments sit beside the main story and send you into the open world to use Magic Touch, catch new Jinies and visit the places the story already points to.
Those assignments belong to the early progression loop. Do them in the same pass as your main quest instead of grinding them separately or saving them for later, because they pay into the same early economy as everything else.
The rest of this page is short on purpose. The sources mention the Academy only in passing, and an honest gap is better than a made-up list of schools.
What is documented, and what is not
You will find confident four-school lists and bonus tables elsewhere. None of the sources behind this guide contain a school list, a bonus table or a switching rule, so none is reproduced here.
| Item | Status |
|---|---|
| Magic Academy as a system | Confirmed |
| Academy assignments in the Magic Handbook | Confirmed (CN build, Season 3; single source) |
| Academy Points Tournament | Named as an official feature; scoring and rewards not documented |
| Outdoor Classroom | Referenced as an Academy activity; schedule and rewards not documented |
| Full school list and per-school bonuses | Not confirmed |
| Switching schools or respec rules | Not confirmed |
| Academy Point conversion or weekly cap | Not confirmed |
One dated post does mention a "combat academy privilege" that adds six key crafts a week (CN build, Season 3; single source). Treat it as a hint that a school or track can modify your weekly chores, not as proof that a combat school exists in the global build.
How to judge a school once you can see one
When the options appear, read each bonus and sort it into one of four types.
- Resource trickle. Passive Roco Shells, Magic Dust, keys or stamina. Best for a new account because it pays from the first hour.
- Capture modifier. Better odds, extra spawns or cheaper balls. Best if your goal is collecting variants.
- Combat modifier. Stats or skills in a narrow mode. Best if you already have a team and care about PvP.
- Social perk. Shared rewards or faster co-op. Best if you play with a regular partner.
Then ask whether the bonus applies outside Academy activities and whether it still matters after week two. A bonus that only pays inside a menu you stop opening is worse than a smaller bonus that pays while you play. If the UI does not state a switching cost, assume the choice is locked until proven otherwise, and do not restart an account over it.
Academy Points and the tournament
Academy Points are the scoring layer behind the Academy Points Tournament. The documented part ends there: no source gives a conversion rate, a weekly cap or a reward list. Treat points as something you earn by playing Academy content, and judge their value only when the UI shows an exchange.
A safe routine is to open the Academy screen at the start of each weekly reset, read the current tasks and finish them before optional farming. The weekly checklist in the daily routine guide is the place to slot them in.
Do not buy an Academy currency bundle in the first week of the global build. Exchange rates are exactly the kind of number that changes between the CN build and a global launch.
A conservative plan for the CBT
- Play the first two hours normally and open every Magic Handbook tab. Note whether the Academy is a school choice, a track or only a quest hub.
- Screenshot the school screen before choosing. If there is no confirmation step, assume the choice is permanent.
- Pick the bonus that pays during normal play, not the one with the best description.
- Spend nothing on Academy currency until the first weekly reset shows the real reward flow.
- Ask whether switching is possible before building a second account around a school.
If the global build ships a full school system, this page will be rewritten around it. Until then, treat the Academy as a quest hub with a competitive layer: take the assignments as you travel, and keep your currency. For the surrounding systems, see the magic system guide and the starter Jinies guide.
